Kitty Matchbox

For co-worker Laura's birthday today, I made her one of my matchboxes. She loves cats and knitting, so my matchbox theme worked perfectly! (This was a ceramic cat find that I featured on an earlier post. It carried a red pom pom which I switched out for the green ball of yarn — made simply by wrapping embroidery floss around a marble, holding it in place with a tiny drop of glue every other wind around.)

How creative and a great idea for homemade gifts - I'm trying to do more of that these days. These little ceramics are the type of thing I always pass up at garage sales. Now I will look at them with renewed interest.

Also, the Xmas pin collection - WOW!!

Dawn,

What a sweet gift! I bet she loved it. Very clever using the marble too.
