I took a walk outside and dang it, we got da best grass of any yard in the neighborhood. The inside of the house looks like a disaster, but our grass looks like carpet. And then I passed our mailbox and there she was, a bluebird. The bluebird of happiness. Harleigh and I savored a long hug today and laughed at what a day it was indeed. We wondered . . . do we suffer more home disasters and in-need-of-mendings than most? Maybe, but we're happy.

Awww... sorry to hear of your water troubles. What a pain! But it's so nice that you are able to see the good in everything - new carpet, pretty bluebirds, fresh grass. You give me hope!
Wow, Dawn...I am sorry you are going through this! Your daughter sounds like a true friend. And yes your lawn is beautiful. I hope the repair work goes smoothly...you'll be in my thoughts!
"my" bluebirds sit on the mailbox just like that. None of the other birds do, though. Wonder why? I love them, especially when they let me get close enough to get a good look before they fly off with that brilliant flash of cobalt blue and deep rosy pink. Truly a very happy thing--and a nice reminder at the end of the day to keep it all in perspective. Love you!
So sorry to hear about the water heater. My husband has been saying that is at the top of our list to do because ours is original to our house and he feels it could be a disaster waiting to happen. I have thought he was a little fanatical, but you have made me re-think his point of view for sure. We just put down hardwood last year, and he says a water heater problem could be a total disaster. So glad you have a good perspective of things today. It is so easy to let the dailyness of life get us down. If I could just remember there is nothing that I face that takes God by surprise. So glad you had Harleigh there for encouragement. Have a blessed weekend. Jackie
I must agree that you have beautiful grass. I constantly love your upbeat attitude, girl! Stay strong....
