While the northern East Coast suffers the wrath of Irene, we here in Georgia — at least those who don't rely on the earth for a living — face the drought with humble gratitude. I look at a lawn of dirt, plants that haven't survived and will need to be replaced come Spring, but at least the devastation can be managed without loss of lives or property. It's merely the greenery surrounding our homes. I can deal with that. For sure.Saturday, August 27, 2011

Dawn,
We got back from 6 days in PA and we couldn't believe it was still so dry here. Our garden is almost dried up.
